Who is responsible?
EV4-U is the trading name of Premier Electrical Leicester Ltd, 19 Headland Road, Leicester, LE5 6AE. We are responsible for the personal information you provide to us through this website. Contact admin@ev4-u.co.uk or 0116 4422768 about your information.
When you ask us for help
We use your name, email, phone number, postcode and message to respond to your enquiry. If you provide them, we also use your vehicle, installation address, existing charger details, preferred installation date/time, chosen design and home-check answers to understand the work you need. Required fields are marked on the form; without enough contact and location information we may be unable to assess or respond to your request.
Submitting the form sends these details to EV4-U. An enquiry reference confirms receipt, not a booking or a sale. Please do not include card details, passwords, health information or sensitive documents. Your enquiry is not added to a marketing mailing list.
Why we use this information
We process quote and installation requests to take steps at your request before entering a contract, and to perform a contract if you proceed. Our legitimate interests in answering general questions, keeping reliable enquiry records and protecting our service support customer correspondence and security checks. We use information where needed to meet legal record-keeping obligations. Optional analytics, session insights and advertising technologies rely on your permission, as described below.
What stays in your browser
Necessary browser storage remembers your charger design, non-contact home-check choices and your privacy preferences. Home-check choices can include the make and model of a charger you already own. Use “Start again” to clear the home check, or your browser’s site-data controls to remove saved website data. Your privacy choice is valid for up to 180 days before we ask again.
Contact, vehicle and installation-address fields are not routinely saved for later visits. If changing an accepted privacy choice requires a page refresh, the website briefly stores the current form in this tab’s session storage to restore it after the refresh. That copy is removed when read back and is only eligible for restoration for two minutes. Closing the tab ends its session storage. Enquiry references may be stored on this device to avoid counting the same response twice.
Saving a link by email
If you choose to save by email when that service is available, we store your email address, charger choices and completed home-check answers to send a private resume link through our email provider. This does not add you to marketing emails or create a quote, payment or booking. Contact-form names, phone numbers, vehicle and installation-address fields are excluded from the saved snapshot. Your link expires after 30 days; expired snapshots are removed when the save/resume service next processes a request. Keep the link private, because anyone with it can open the saved choices.
Your optional choices
These tools are separate choices. They load only when the relevant service is enabled and you have allowed its purpose. You can reject all optional tools and still use the website and enquiry form.
- Analytics — Google Analytics. Helps us understand pages visited, charger choices, steps through the website and completed enquiries.
- Session insights — Microsoft Clarity. Helps us understand page interactions through heatmaps and session recordings. The website requests masking of page content, including enquiry forms and response messages, before loading Clarity.
- Advertising — Meta. Helps measure page views, product interest and completed enquiries associated with advertising.
Our measurement events exclude your name, email, phone number, postcode, installation address, vehicle details and message text. Optional providers may still receive technical information such as your IP address, browser/device information, page location and online identifiers when their tools run. An enquiry event does not tell them that you bought an installation. Masking and event filtering are separate from the private information you intentionally submit to EV4-U.
Use at any time to change or withdraw permission. Withdrawal stops future optional tracking and may refresh the page to stop tools already loaded. If your browser cannot preserve a typed form, you will be asked to copy it before refreshing. Withdrawal does not automatically erase information already lawfully collected; contact us about deletion or other rights.
Service providers and other services
Where our online enquiry service is available, Cloudflare provides website delivery, security and enquiry storage. Security checks use technical request information, including a time-limited value derived from the connection’s IP address, to reduce repeated submissions. Where email notifications are enabled, Resend processes the enquiry details to deliver a notification to EV4-U’s mailbox. These services help us receive and handle your request; they are not optional advertising tools.
The optional providers are Google, Microsoft and Meta as selected above. Their services may process data outside the UK. Read their information about processing locations and safeguards, or contact us for information about the arrangements relevant to your enquiry: Cloudflare privacy, Resend privacy, Google privacy, Microsoft privacy and Meta privacy.
If you choose WhatsApp, manufacturer support or our existing customer/installer services, those services have their own privacy information. Our existing service privacy policy covers the wider installation relationship, including relevant sharing with engineers, manufacturers, grant bodies and professional advisers.
How long information is kept
For enquiries that do not become installations, retention depends on whether we are still corresponding with you, whether a quote or question remains open, and whether records are needed to handle a complaint or legal obligation. Contact us if you want us to close an enquiry or review information held about you.
Our existing service policy states that installation records are retained for at least six years for warranty and regulatory purposes. That relates to installation records; it is not a blanket six-year period for every website enquiry. Browser choices remain until cleared or replaced, subject to the privacy-choice and temporary-form limits described above.
Your rights and questions
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access or correct information, request erasure or restriction, object to processing based on legitimate interests, request portability, and withdraw consent. Contact admin@ev4-u.co.uk so we can consider your request and any applicable record-keeping duties. You can also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
